The hospital in St. Lawrence will be without emergency services for a week starting today.
The emergency department at the U.S. Memorial Health Centre will be temporarily closed due to staff shortages from 8 a.m. today until next Monday at 8 a.m.
While emergency services are closed, primary health care, such as family practice clinic appointments, continue to be available. Appointments for lab and medical imaging services are on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Patients requiring emergency services during the closure should call 911 or go to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre in Burin or the Dr. S. Beckley Clinic in Grand Bank if they feel they have a serious or urgent medical problem.
