There’s a new vapor trail between St. John’s and Montreal with the first flight today.
Lynx Air’s inaugural flight from St. John’s to Montreal left this afternoon. The low-cost airline will fly Monday, Wednesday and Friday from St. John’s to Montreal and Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from Montreal.
At the same time, Lynx Air is launching service between Montreal and Calgary. Plans are in the works to expand to the other end of the country – Vancouver.
They have a brand-new fleet of Boeing 737 aircraft.
Vijay Bathija, COO of the company, says they’re excited to make Montreal more accessible to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador. He adds that Lynx will ensure a great flying experience at an ultra-affordable price.
They have a one-time seat sale on today and Tuesday with fares starting from as low as $59.
Dennis Hogan, CEO of the St. John’s International Airport Authority, says Montreal is a critical route and the new flight will expand connectivity.
