Rocks, Resources and Resilience is the theme of this weekend’s 34th annual Baie Verte Mining Conference.
The president of the Baie Verte Peninsula Chamber of Commerce, Lloyd Hayden, says the people of the Baie Verte Peninsula have always shown great resilience, adding mining continues to be a big contributor to the local economy.
He sales while the industry has seen its ups and downs over the years, they continue to forge ahead.
Industry Minister Andrew Parsons is scheduled to speak at the opening of the conference this evening at the Tommy Ricketts Arena.
