Air access to and from Newfoundland and Labrador has been a hot topic in recent weeks.
Some in the business community have said it’s time for the provincial government to step in to improve air access, while the St. John’s International Airport Authority says their top priority is increasing air access.
St. John’s Board of Trade CEO, Ann Marie Boudreau says the limited flight destinations to the province negatively impacts the business community by reducing economic growth and development, increases cost productivity, and reduces investment opportunities.
On June 19th, the St. John’s Board of Trade is hosting “CHECKING-IN WITH YYT: A Conversation on Air Access & Business in St. John’s”.
Boudreau says it’ll be the first time the CEO of the St. John’s International Airport Authority Denis Hogan has some facetime with the business community.
She says with limited air access businesses are hindered as it’s problematic when people don’t have the ability to come and go from the province as they should. Boudreau further highlights the event will help the business community not only to gain insights into the airport’s ongoing developments and future plans but also to effectively communicate their needs, fostering a path toward greater success.
