Applications are now open for those interested in a career with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary and they are seeking both new recruits and experienced police officers.
The RNC is recruiting a class of candidates who will be given the opportunity to complete a progressive and safe training program delivered by the Atlantic Police Academy in PEI.
Applicants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents of Canada and must have successfully completed a minimum of one year of post-secondary education at an accredited institution by September of this year.
Applications are also accepted from those who have experience in a law enforcement or military role.
The recruitment drive is also seeking experienced police officers including those currently serving, or who have served, as a sworn police officer with full constable status.
RNC Constable James Cadigan describes the characteristics they are looking for.
At the end of the day, he says they want people who want to support their communities.
