St. John’s City Council is changing their schedule this fall.

Starting after the summer, City Council will now meet every second week for the regularly scheduled and special meetings, and alternate with Committee of the Whole.

Both council meetings and committee of the whole will be held on Tuesdays, starting at 3:00 p.m.

St. John’s Mayor Danny Breen says the change is to make sure they are making effective use of meeting time.

He says previously, meetings without the committee of the whole report on them tended to be light. The new system will fix that.

Meanwhile, council now moves to its summer schedule, meaning meetings will take place every second week.
