The PC Opposition is once again raising questions about Newfoundland and Labrador’s position in the Atlantic Loop negotiations.
Interim Leader David Brazil raised similar issues earlier in the spring when the province was left out of the federal government’s budget line item regarding the loop.
Brazil says similar concerns still remain, adding they’re again hearing about discussions between Ottawa and other provinces, but Newfoundland and Labrador is not in the conversation.
“Is this an Atlantic Loop, or is this a Maritime-Quebec loop?” Brazil asked during a media briefing Friday afternoon.
He says there is a lot of talk about what Ottawa is offering to make the loop work, adding he’s hearing of Quebec being in discussions with Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, excluding this province.
“There are a lot of concerns about what’s happening there but we haven’t heard one thing from the premier or the minister on what’s happening,” says Brazil.
