The province is providing an update on compensation packages for those impacted by the devastation of Hurricane Fiona.

Government says they are working alongside the hardest hit community in Channel-Port aux Basques to determine a Fiona impact zone.

Anyone owning property in the designated zone will be eligible to receive the replacement value of their home at a minimum of $200 per square foot as well as compensation for land value or the option of another suitable piece of land.

The impact zone has been determined through the use of aerial footage, on-site verification, and the storm surge debris line.
