Debris from OceanGate’s Titan submersible landed at the St. John’s harbour this morning.
The Horizon Arctic, which was engaged in the search for the Titan submersible, arrived in St. John’s on the south side of the harbour shortly after 7:30 a.m.
After some time, a crane on board the vessel began removing debris from the Titan onto trucks.

About ten pieces were taken off the ship, beginning with the porthole. A larger panel was also removed, with something obscuring the OceanGate logo.
A US Coast Guard ship was docked nearby on the south side of the harbour. It’s unclear if the debris was transferred onto that vessel.

The Titan, and the five crew on board, were lost after a “catastrophic implosion” likely during its descent to the wreck.
Investigations are ongoing, led by the US Coast Guard. The Transportation Safety Board and the RCMP also launched investigations into the loss of the Titan and its passengers.
