A Newfoundlander is switching NHL teams.
Jason King has been hired as an assistant coach for the Minnesota Wild.
The Corner Brook native spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach with the Vancouver Canucks. He previously coached the St. John’s Ice Caps and was the Director of Hockey Operations for a season.
King was drafted as a player by Vancouver in 2001, and appeared in 59 NHL games over three seasons with both the Canucks and the Anaheim Ducks.
