Federal Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre was in the province last week as part of what he’s calling an ‘Axe the Tax’ tour.

Poilievre made a visit to Labrador and several stops on the island, including the VOCM studios.

He says many Canadians are struggling to make ends meet due to fees such as the carbon tax and the new Clean Fuel Regulations.

Under a majority Conservative government, Poilievre says those taxes would be no more.

He says earning the majority is the only surefire way he will be able to eliminate the taxes. If it was a case of a minority government, he plans to persuade other parties to join in the effort.
