The Opposition Health Critic is criticizing government for a privacy breach related to an email to fertility treatment patients.

The 116 recipients of the email were not blind copied, meaning all who received the email were able to see other fertility patients.

PC MHA Paul Dinn says fertility is a sensitive subject that can cause people great anxiety, with 43 percent of patients being diagnosed with the disorder. He says given recent events, an email like this does not help.

He says it is all well and good for government to say that someone made a mistake, but given the recent cyber attack, there should be higher attention given to ensuring all the information being sent out is being sent to the right people.
