The provincial government is working on a plan for the distribution of COVID-19 booster shots in the fall.
The National Advisory Committee on Immunization, or NACI, is recommending that Canadians get another booster vaccine this fall.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Janice Fitzgerald says her team is working on logistics for this fall’s booster campaign.
Fitzgerald says the booster doses will be updated to target more recent variants of the virus.
She says the recommendation is that any new booster should contain an XBB variant antigen, which is the latest variant circulating in Canada at this time.
