The MP for Avalon says he’s expressed his disappointment to federal Fisheries Minister Joyce Murray over her decision not to resume the mackerel fishery.

Ken McDonald says there are signs that the stock is recovering with plenty of reports of increased mackerel in bays around the province.

“There should be at least a bait fishery,” says McDonald, “but that didn’t even happen.”
