The hottest ticket in Gander faced an unexpected setback last week when a number of cast and crew members fell ill, leading to the cancellation of five shows.

Ticket holders from the sold-out Come From Away began receiving notices that the show was put on hold due to an unknown illness. That resulted in several hundred people who didn’t get to see the performances.

Gander Mayor Percy Farwell says it’s unfortunate but the show can’t go on when the cast and crew are ill.

Farwell says, presumably, the illness will resolve itself. There is a break until Wednesday so one would hope that the show will be back in full swing by then. He states that he hasn’t heard if any other shows have been cancelled as of yet.
