A Newfoundlander is joining the Toronto Maple Leafs’ front office.
Derek Clancey has been named as Assistant General Manager, Player Personnel.
The St. John’s native, who has risen through the ranks as a scout and in player personnel decisions, spent last season as assistant general manager with the Vancouver Canucks, overseeing the pro and amateur scouting efforts.
He has previously worked with the Calgary Flames, Pittsburgh Penguins and numerous ECHL teams in player personnel, scouting and coaching.
