There is an outage with Bell Aliant in the metro area due to what the company calls a fibre cut by a third party.
Reports of the outage started coming in around 9:30, with everything from phone, internet, and TV services being affected.
As well, callers to the VOCM Newsroom say it is affecting bank card services at some outlets, and that some retailers can accept only cash at this time.
Bell says they are working to restore service as quickly as possible, but they do not have any estimates on timelines at this time.
Some customers in St John's, Newfoundland and Labrador may be experiencing service interruptions due to a fibre cut by a third party. We are working to restore service as quickly as possible. Thank you for your patience.
