A local clothing company has partnered with a disability advocate and blogger in support of Empower, the Disability Resource Centre.
Lisa Walters, who is behind the Damsel in a Dress and Access YYT Facebook pages, has joined with Make Waves Collective to sell a t-shirt with “less pity, more ramps” written on them.
In a post to Facebook, Walters explains the phrase by saying that pitying disabled people gets us nowhere, and a more accessible society needs to be built.
$10 from the sale of each shirt will go to Empower, the Disability Resource Centre.
