A young girl has died after she was struck by a pickup truck while on her bicycle in Shea Heights yesterday.

The tragic accident happened on Druken Crescent around 4:00 p.m.

The girl was rushed to hospital, but succumbed to her injuries a short while later.

The RNC say the 81-year-old driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is co-operating with the investigation.

Police are continuing to investigate the accident and are asking anyone with video footage from the area or information to contact them.

The RNC is sending its condolences to the family and friends of the young girl.
