The CEO of Energy NL is applauding Equinor’s exploration program plans for 2024.
The company, which is behind the massive Bay du Nord project, put its development plans on hold earlier this year, much to the concern of industry, provincial and federal officials.
Equinor indicated that it remains committed to Bay du Nord and is working on a plan to reduce costs associated with the project.
In the meantime, the Norwegian company plans to drill a deep-water exploration well in the Flemish Pass. That, says Charlene Johnson of Energy NL, is encouraging news.
“It really demonstrates Equinor’s commitment to the region, but more specifically to the Bay du Nord Project,” says Johnson.
