Young people involved in the provincial Youth Ventures program will be showcasing their ideas and wares this evening at the St. John’s Farmer’s Market.
Youth Ventures is a summer program that helps young individuals explore entrepreneurial ideas.
Provincial coordinator Robyn Evans says they have participants from all across the island, ranging in age from eight years old to young adults.
“We have a cupcake maker coming in from Grand Falls-Windsor. We also have two entrepreneurs from Carbonear who sell Newfoundland-inspired artwork, including coloring books, stickers, magnets, and crocheted items. Moreover, we feature a full vegan skincare line, a waffle-maker, jewelry makers, and people selling crystals and stones,” enthuses Evans.
Tonight’s Night Market showcase is open to the public starting at 5:00 p.m., followed by the Youth Ventures Awards tomorrow from 2:00 to 5:00 at the St. John’s Farmer’s Market.
