The Canadian Hurricane Centre is watching Tropical Storm Franklin which has formed in the Caribbean Sea.
The Canadian Hurricane Centre says Franklin has the potential to become a hurricane later this week and is expected to track northward and east of Newfoundland.
The storm’s progress is being monitored closely over the coming days.
The Canadian Hurricane Centre updated its seasonal hurricane forecast earlier this month, with more named storms expected, largely due to rising ocean temperatures.
Tropical Storm #Franklin has now formed in the Caribbean Sea, joining Tropical Storm Emily and Tropical Depression #6. Franklin could become a hurricane later this week, and its progress should be monitored closely over the coming days. pic.twitter.com/M1q4ROyOf0
