The City of St. John’s has released a report on what was heard during recent consultations on plans for three shared use paths in the capital city.
The projects include the upgrade and expansion of the shared use path from Airport Heights to the Paul Reynolds Centre, the new connection along Columbus from Canada Drive to the T’railway in Bowring Park, and the shared use path from Portugal Cove Road to Logy Bay Road.
The city says generally participants supported moving forward with an active transportation plan, and that access points to neighbourhoods as well as signs, lighting, and places to stop and rest were important.
Some concern was expressed about the lack of consultation for specific sections of the trails.
