The NDP MHA for Labrador West says course offerings have been cut for students in the region because over nine teaching vacancies have not been filled.

Jordon Brown contends that children now have fewer educational opportunities because of a failure on government’s part to retain and recruit teachers.

He wants to see better incentives in place as a lot of it comes down to economics.

Brown says interviews were conducted for all positions, but once they found out about housing prices in the area they back out.
