A new provincial political poll shows that while satisfaction with the overall performance of Premier Andrew Furey and his government remains stable, voter intentions have shifted, with the Liberals and PCs virtually neck-and-neck in support.
Narrative Research says while 54 per cent of respondents express satisfaction with the overall performance of the provincial government, support for the governing Liberals has dropped, while support for the PCs and NDP rose.
Forty per cent support the Liberals, down from 50 per cent in May, while 37 per cent support the Tories, up from 31 per cent three months ago.
Support for the NDP also grew, rising to 23 per cent from 17 percent in May.
Thirty-two per cent of those asked prefer Andrew Furey for Premier, compared to 24 per cent who prefer PC Leader David Brazil and 18 per cent of those who prefer Jim Dinn of the NDP.
