Police on Bell Island are investigating two suspected arsons at abandoned properties earlier this month.

The two fires occurred within days of each other.

Police were notified of the first blaze shortly after 12:30 p.m. in the morning on August 11, at a property on Lance Cove Road.

Two days later on August 13, shortly after 2:00 a.m. police were called to another fire at a house on Brother Lanes Road.

Both homes were destroyed by the fires.

The investigations are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
