It’s going to be a busy weekend in St. John’s Harbour.

Two cruise ships carrying over 5,500 passengers will be making stops in the capital city today and tomorrow.

The Celebrity Summit, carrying over 2,400 passengers, arrived early this morning and will head out this evening around 6:00 p.m.

That will make room for an even larger ship, the Caribbean Princess, which arrives in the Port of St. John’s around 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, with over 3,100 on board.

Slowdowns can be expected in the downtown area due to the number of visitors.

Cruise ship season in the capital city continues until October.
