The owner of the Dymond Group of Companies expects work at the site to begin almost immediately now that a deal to transfer ownership of Stephenville Airport has been finalized.
The transfer became official late Friday afternoon.
Newfoundlander Carl Dymond says he’s thrilled and is offering assurances that his plans to develop the airport remain the same.
He vows to continue operating the airport as an airport complete with additional development at the site, including manufacturing. “Everything that we said we were going to do with this airport, is what we’re going to do with it. I know there’s concerns, because this took a long time, but our plans have not changed.”
Dymond says area residents will start to see increased activity in the next week or so.
New signs are going up and vehicles are being logoed. In the meantime new hangars will start to be constructed on the site in the coming weeks.
