Minister Derrick Bragg has had his final cancer treatment.
In a post to Facebook yesterday, Bragg says he rang the Bell of Hope immediately after.
Bragg writes that to say it has been a long road “would be an understatement,” noting that his family and friends have played a big part in him reaching this point.
He first shared news of his cancer diagnosis back in June.
That announcement came after Bragg served as Fisheries Minister during one of the most tumultuous times for the fishery in recent memory, helping mediate a resolution to a price dispute that deadlocked the industry for most of the spring.
Shortly after publicly announcing his diagnosis, Premier Andrew Furey shuffled Bragg out of Fisheries, instead naming him as a Minister without a Portfolio.
