The St. Vincent de Paul food bank, which had operated out of Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church in St. John’s for 30 years, will not be re-opening.
The food bank had to close when the church was sold as part of efforts by the Roman Catholic Church to sell off its assets to settle sex abuse claims.
The food bank was unable to secure an alternate location and as such, it will not be re-opening.
Those who had been making use of the food bank in the past are being encouraged to visit another food bank near them.
