The MHA for CBS is hoping issues at Frank Roberts Junior High have been addressed in some way ahead of the new school year.
PC MHA and education critic Barry Petten says that he and the education minister, Krista Lynn Howell, toured the school recently.
He says significant work has gone into addressing a rodent and mold issue in the aging CBS school. He says extra cleaning work has taken place, however the school is still too small. He says the minister agreed with him that the cafeteria is too small for the student body.
Petten says they have done a decent job in theory of addressing the issues, but he’ll reserve judgement until it is once again full of students. In the meantime, he’s doubled down on his calls for a new school in the area.
He says Conception Bay South continues to grow and Frank Roberts is not big enough to handle the massive catchment area. He says it is past its best before date.
