The Director of Communications with Grieg Seafood in Marystown is pleased with provincial funding announced this week by Minister Elvis Loveless.

The new Multi-Species Research and Development Fund will help to develop and diversify commercial species, like oysters and even marine plants.

Grieg Seafood is involved in salmon farming, but Perry Power welcomes further growth in the industry.

He says as a Newfoundlander, he welcomes increased activity in rural areas of the province, “and that’s ultimately what this is all about.”
