Although the majority of the work has been completed, there are still some repairs left to be done following a fire stemming from electrical issues at St. John’s International Airport.
The fire, which broke out in late March, resulted in significant damage to the eastern section of the departure lounge at YYT.
The CEO of the St. John’s International Airport Authority, Dennis Hogan, says the remediation team and contractors have largely completed their renovation efforts. However, he says some areas of the terminal are still being worked on.
Hogan says the progress right now relies on certain trades that are in short supply to service things like damaged escalators.
He is optimistic that within the next two months or so, most of that work will be completed.
