The provincial and federal governments have announced funding to help innovative startups in the province.
Skills Minister Gerry Byrne made the announcement this morning in Corner Brook on behalf of Technology Minister Andrew Parsons.
Federal Minister responsible for ACOA, Gudie Hutchings, was also on hand for the announcement.
Ottawa is providing $867,000 while the provincial government’s contribution is $289,000 to support a Navigate Incubator and Makerspace—a partnership between the Grenfell campus of Memorial University and the College of the North Atlantic in Corner Brook.
The new workshop area will be located in the Centre for Research and Innovation and will include specialized equipment for training, carpentry and welding shops as well as a clean makerspace.
