Hospitality NL says it appears as though inflation had an impact on the 2023 summer tourism season.
Executive Director Deborah Bourden of Twillingate says some members are reporting a booming summer season, while others say it was not as good as the previous year.
Bourden says some of the biggest challenges were seen on the restaurant side of the hospitality industry.
Inflation is having an impact, says Bourden, especially on the food and beverage sector. She says people are struggling to earn a living in the sector, and guests are struggling with the prices that operators have to charge.
