SIRT-NL has determined that there are no reasonable grounds to believe an RCMP officer committed perjury on the stand in Provincial Court in St. John’s.
The civilian oversight agency launched its investigation on April 10, collecting investigative files, witness statements, copies of public complaints made to the Civilian Review and Complaints Commission and correspondence between the complainant and the RNC on a complaint made to the Constabulary among other information and evidence.
SIRT-NL Director Mike King says he has not formed reasonable grounds to believe that the officer committed a criminal offence and a charge will not be laid in the matter.
