One of two men accused of sexual violence offences against teenagers in St. John’s had four more charges added to the list this morning.
Sixty-two-year-old Tony Humby now faces 28 charges while co-accused, 80-year-old Bruce Escott, faces 10 involving seven youth and two young adults.
It stems from an ongoing investigation of alleged sexual assault and exploitation of vulnerable youth in the east end of the city.
It’s believed most, if not all of the incidents occurred at the homes of the two men on Hussey Drive dating back to 2004.
The new allegations include two counts of sexual assault, sexual exploitation and sexual interference.
That’s in addition to the earlier similar charges, plus child luring, forcible confinement and uttering threats.
Police believe Humby and Escott worked together to lure and abuse teenage boys from 2004 to 2021.
Humby’s trial is set for mid-November while Escott is expected to enter pleas to his charges on October 3.
