NL Health Services say a new pizza vending machine at the Health Sciences in St. John’s will be up and running in the near future.
The health authority says the vending machine, purchased from the Negan Group, will provide patients, visitors and staff an added option to access hot food “around the clock.”
Some have questioned installation of the vending machine in light of NL Health Services’ new three-phase healthy food policy.
The health authority says Phase 1 of the Healthy Food Policy for retail in health care settings focuses on deep fried, or partially fried foods, sweetened beverages and confectionary items.
It says food like pizza, which is baked, is compliant with the policy.
