The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has sworn in 17 new officers.
On Monday, 17 cadets were sworn in as constables of the police force, following up on a graduation ceremony at the Atlantic Police Academy in PEI a few weeks ago.
Officers took their oath of office and were presented with their badges, joining the Constabulary’s ranks of more than 400 officers.
The recruits will be assigned a coach officer and begin patrolling next month in Corner Brook and on the northeast Avalon.
Recruitment for the next class of candidates is now underway, with training set to start in January.
