Atlantic Canada is battening down the hatches today as Hurricane Lee makes its way north.
Nova Scotia, PEI, and New Brunswick will bear the brunt of the storm.
Environment Canada meteorologist Mike Vandenberg says Lee has already transitioned into a post-tropical storm and will move “very slowly” across the Maritimes over the next 24 hours.
He says the storm will “weaken considerably” during that time and they aren’t expecting any significant impacts on this province.
Vandenberg describes the system as a “wet weather maker” for the province. He says the south coast of the island could see about 30-40 mm of rain tomorrow, while the south coast of Labrador could see upwards of 50 mm.
Vandenberg notes that winds will be a factor for the Wreckhouse tonight, with gusts upwards of about 100 km/h.
