We’ll have an update tomorrow afternoon on the province’s efforts to transform our health care system. It all began with the creation of the Health Accord.
Dr. Pat Parfrey and Health Minister Tom Osborne will be at the St.John’s Board of Trade luncheon at the Delta today.
Dr. Parfrey, who is now a deputy minister in charge of health transformation, says change takes time.
Newfoundland and Labrador has some of the worst health outcomes in the country, but Dr. Parfrey notes that we also rank at the top when it comes to things such as overall satisfaction, sense of belonging and sense of community.
He believes that we have many of the ingredients necessary to turn things around.

He told VOCM Open Line with Paddy Daly that there will be an event tomorrow night focusing on food, music, culture and health.
The event, which takes place at City Hall tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m., will be livestreamed.
