An elderly man who became lost while berry picking in the woods near Glovertown had to be rescued by the RCMP and Bonavista Bay Search and Rescue on Monday.

The RCMP were first notified that the man was lost at 6:00 p,m, Monday evening. They were told that he was diabetic and had no provisions.

The man, who was in need of medical attention, was located through the use of a drone by an RCMP officer and then transported to hospital for medical attention.

He had been separated from a friend. That person, who was unaware of what had happened, was later brought out of the woods by police.
