Newfoundland and Labrador had one of the greatest increases in rent prices in the country in August on a year-over-year basis.
Renting an apartment cost 9.5 per cent more in Nova Scotia last month compared with August 2022 but rent in NL went up by 8.4 per cent, 6.5 per cent in Alberta and 6.1 per cent in Manitoba.
Nationally, shelter prices rose by 6.0 per cent last month over August 2022 following a 5.5 per cent gain in July.
