A happy ending to the search for a Newfoundland dog missing in the area of Gros Morne National Park.

Jacopo bolted when owner Brad Young’s vehicle left the road and rolled over into a ditch last Sunday night near Glenburnie.

Area residents and fellow pet lovers were involved in a massive search for the last several days in hopes of reuniting Jacopo with his owner.

Reports now indicate that the dog was found this morning tangled up in the brush about a kilometre from where the crash occurred.

The dog was taken to Corner Brook to be checked over but appears to be none the worse for his ordeal.
