Pre-trial arguments are expected to wrap up on Monday involving one of two men facing sex charges against young men and teens in the east end of St. John’s.
Sixty-two-year-old Tony Humby is now facing 28 charges after four more were laid last week.
Co-accused, 80-year-old Bruce Escott, faces 10 charges, with new allegations dating back to 1995.
The alleged offences are said to involve seven teenagers and two young adults, and include sexual assault, interference and exploitation, invitation to touching, as well as child luring by computer and forcible confinement.
The pre-trial conference is designed to streamline the case and deal with any issues that could delay or sidetrack the 10-day trial, which is set to begin on November 14th in provincial court.
Escott, meanwhile, is due back in court on October 3rd when he’s expected to enter pleas to his charges.
Both remain in custody.
It’s believed most, if not all of the incidents occurred at the homes of the two men, who were neighbours on Hussey Drive in the east end of St. John’s.
