A man who had been unlawfully at large on the west coast is back in custody, but not before smashing a window out of a police cruiser and threatening to kill officers and the police dog.
The RNC first asked for help from the public to locate Christopher Payne over a week ago. They spotted him at 1:30 this morning walking in the Humber Road area of Corner Brook. When they approached, Payne took off on foot. They brought in the dog and found him at about 2:30 hiding in the back of a parked vehicle.
But he did not go quietly and, as such, has been charged with uttering threats, property damage, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.
