The provincial government has increased monthly rates provided for government-subsidized beds in personal care home and community care homes in the province.
An additional $15.4 million in subsidies is being provided to operators with increased funds to accept more residents who need a higher level of care.
The funding is intended to help with recruitment and retention of personal care home workers, and to allow for patients currently in acute care beds to move get the care they need in personal care homes.
The additional funding was among the recommendations of the Health Accord.
