The First Light Friendship Centre is encouraging people in the metro region to come out to their rally for reconciliation at Colonial Building today.
Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day.
It’s a day set aside to recognize the legacy of the residential school system across the country, and honour the survivors and those who have been lost.
Director of research and strategic partnerships Justin Campbell is calling on all people in the region to come out and show support for residential school survivors, and promote change in the spirit of truth and reconciliation.
The rally kicks off this afternoon at 2:45.
