The town of Bay Roberts has received the bronze award and special mention for the Kenneth W. Jerrett Memorial Park as part of the annual Communities in Bloom Awards.
The park, once a busy commercial and social centre in Bay Roberts, was reclaimed by Ken Jerrett for restoration, but his health prevented him from completing his dream of turning the property into his own special retreat.
His family took up the project after her passed in 2020 at the age of 49. The park was recognized as “a stunning piece of property where his family built a beautiful park in memory of Kenneth after his passing.”
The Communities in Bloom awards were handed out in Fort McMurray on Sunday.
