It appears as though Hurricane Philippe, which is slowly churning northward in the Atlantic, will bypass Newfoundland, setting its sights on Nova Scotia.
The storm is expected to weaken and make landfall Sunday morning along Nova Scotia’s southern shore as a post tropical storm with forecast winds of 100 km/h.
Whether the storm will have any impact on this province, including Labrador, is not known at this time, but may become clearer in the coming days.
The @ECCC_CHC continues to monitor #Philippe, which has been moving slowly across the tropical Atlantic over the last 10 days. Interests in eastern Canada should also now watch this system as it could influence our weekend weather. pic.twitter.com/dnW5s926Bd
